Interior & Grounds
The five floors of the house are connected by an ancient spiral staircase in stone. A first bedroom with an en-suite bathroom can be found on the ground floor alongside a utility room.
The Great Hall is on the first floor and houses the living room with its dining and meeting table. This major reception room is a great place to relax on inviting sofas and to admire the fine antique furniture and two feature candelabras. In cooler temperatures a fire is kept blazing in the wide fireplace, and the large windows afford great views of the surrounding countryside. Ancient is combined with modern and a 42” plasma television screen with full cinema sound brings the outside world in when required. For those wishing for a total break, it can be discreetly concealed behind an ornate tapestry.
The kitchen is also on this floor, and guests enjoy preparing their favourite food here.
On the upper levels there are five bedrooms and a sitting room. Many of the shuttered windows in the castle chambers have quirky window seats set into the thick walls. The stone staircase goes up to the roof level where an unusual lookout post can be found. There are panoramic views over the neighbouring village out towards the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran.
On the fourth level guests will find the the Suite Bedroom with sitting room, dressing room and a double bed. There is a TV and DVD, Sky TV and a computer point. All the upper bedrooms are individually styled and have wooden four poster beds hand carved and with sumptuous curtains and drapery. On every floor there are easily accessible bathrooms.
