Interior & Grounds
Helen's Tower offers extremely comfortable accommodation decorated in typical Scottish baronial style mixed with mid-Victorian furnishings in some of the bedrooms. This impressive building is full of interesting heirlooms, pictures and treasures that give visitors a sense of its grand history. The castle itself sleeps 33 with an additional 16 on request, located in separate cottages on the grounds.
The castle was sensitively restored by its current owners in the 1980s, but the interior layout has not been altered for centuries thus retaining its historic character and architectural features. Every well appointed and welcoming room in the house has a wonderful view over either the sea or the gardens, and in some cases both. There are seventeen bedrooms at the property, 16 doubles and one single. All the bedrooms look either to the North Sea or out across the estate.
The property's unusual proximity to the beach and setting within acres of grounds offer immense scope for uninterrupted outdoor activities including shooting, fishing, archery, golf, falconry and adrenalin water sports, and make it an exciting venue and escape at any time of year.
For larger indoor events, the castle's Theatre House with its stage, lighting rig, screen for presentations and adjoining Great Hall for drinks receptions offer all that is needed. The castle's own Treehouse situated on the grounds gives visitors on business or pleasure the chance to stay in touch with the outside world via all the latest communications technology. Tucked away in this novel hideaway, you can access the internet and even hold meetings via video conferencing.
