The Northern France has some of France’s most notable cities. Lille is the capital of Northern France, the commercial hub of the region and also a flourishing university and arts town. Le Touquet is still wildly popular with France’s jet set with its excellent golf courses, night life, casino’s, chateaux and beach resort.

 

The region of Picardy holds much interest too, home of two of France's most famous cathedrals, at Amiens and Laon. The quaint Flemish town of Cassel is worth a trip and St Omer produces an excellent lager.

 

The coast of Northern France is long and dramatic sandy beaches and the imposing cliffs that make up the 140 mile stretch of coastline.

 

Northern France is of course on England’s doorstep so the region is tremendously popular for day trippers, as well as those looking for a longer family vacation in a French chateau.
