Things to do whilst staying at your luxury chateau in Normandy:
Normandy has a tremendously rich heritage of battlefields, cathedrals, imposing chateaux, beaches and fine cuisine. Normandy incidentally gets its name from the 10th-century Norman Vikings that settled in the region.
The real places of interest of Normandy include the long and distinctive beaches (Norman Riviera) and fashionable ancient harbours. Deauville attracts the Paris’ elite on holiday with its villa's, chateau, casinos and horse racing. Honfleur and Barfleur are too ancient French ports worth visiting. Rouen is the capital of Normandy, perhaps most famous for witnessing the passing of France’s most famous heroine, Joan of Arc.
The Normandy D-Day landing beaches are a constant reminder of the Second World War in Normandy for the French, as are the ruins in Rouen from the Blitz bombs. Normandy is also home to the Bayeux tapestry so this quarter of France is historically a very significant destination to holiday in France!
Normandy's proximity to the UK means that Normandy is an extremely popular for long weekend breaks and family chateau holidays. Furthermore Normandy has some of the best golf courses in France.
