Interior & Grounds
Sitting Room: A huge room with a patchwork stone floor trodden smooth by generations of feet and a barrel-vaulted ceiling, filled with interesting pieces of antique furniture – an ornate gilt mirror, an old-fashioned stacked terracotta heater, polished pedestal tables, curvaceous chaises longues and daybeds.
Kitchen: A king’s ransom of copper pots and pans lines the walls of this room, ancient recipes are framed on the walls, and delectable culinary smells waft therefrom. This may be a traditional country kitchen with heavy wooden dressers and cupboards, but the light is cast by a cheeringly frivolous chandelier.
Dining Room: Spacious, casual, convivial.
Bedrooms: Four double bedrooms and a twin in airy white-painted rooms, with high ceilings, family portraits and memorabilia on the walls, quaintly functional antique lighting and en suite bathrooms. Fine bedlinens, traditional terracotta heaters, air conditioning and satellite TV contribute to the aura of country comfort.
Suite
This is a self-contained hideaway for two, with its own entrance from the garden. It has its own sitting room and dining room, plus a little extra bathroom for visitors.
Bedroom: White-painted, breezy, with a high ceiling and a wonderfully ornate brass double bed.
Bathroom: With a bathtub.
