Conservatory: Perfect for a quiet read in the sun, this cute glass dome also invites intimate candlelit conversation a deux.

Sitting Room: A well-lit withdrawing room, large enough to be furnished with plenty of comfortable sofas and armchairs, plus a baby grand piano. Doors lead out to the garden, there is an open fireplace for inclement weather, wonderfully baroque lighting and the room is cosily carpeted.

Billiard Hall: Leading from the entrance hall and the sitting room, this is a large airy space, defined by the woodpanelled staircase, an arched anteroom containing a handsome open fireplace of carved stone and a couple of armchairs and banquettes for spectators.

Dining Room: In classic Italian style, this dual aspect room is lined with carved oak panelling, and enlivened by a large open fireplace. The elegant polished wood dining table seats 12 and stands on a fine Persian carpet.

Kitchen: Fully equipped with a dishwasher and a microwave oven, plus a laundry room.

Study: Replete with satellite television, DVD and video. In addition there is a table for cards, a dartboard and a WiFi connection.

The six bedrooms are a nostalgic fusion of ‘Room with a View’ with traditional Italian country, scattered with antiques and flowery textiles, every one blessed with a stupendous view.

The gardens are inviting and romantic, full of secluded corners, fountains and pools, alluring paths, dappled shade, an enchanting tea house, an outdoor barbecue, verdant lawns and quiet roosts with stunning views in which to read and contemplate the sunlight sparkling on the Lake waters. Water features abound, and the sound of cascading rivulets casts its calming spell throughout. Paradise for children, there is a tree house, secret hideaways, table football and a large above ground swimming pool.
