General & History
This Benedictine monastery, which has seen 900 years of history, is located in the secret green heart of Italy, at the meeting point of Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche. A punctilious and sensitive restoration characterises this august building, whose rugged walls – in their prior incarnation as local chapel - were witness to the major life events of many of the workmen involved. While carefully preserving its air of timeworn authenticity, necessary concessions to the 21st century have been incorporated – luxurious bathrooms, a magnificent and well-appointed kitchen, a heated swimming pool, central heating, an up to date communications system.
