Painstakingly restored from a heap of late 17th century rubble in a field - albeit with spectacular views - into the quintessential and authentic expression of Tuscan Casa Colonica, the Villa Colle has been put together using reclaimed materials and with great sensitivity to the vernacular, which give the skilful reconstruction a sense of age-old antiquity - weathered beams, solid oak floor boards, the characteristic narrow bricks, terra cotta tiles, heavy wooden doors, and the typical enfilades of carefully finished monumental brick arches all add up to a convincing historic building.
