The Atlantic, which is 45 minutes away in several directions, provides spectacular views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. In the summer months enjoy surfing lessons on many of the (life guarded) beaches or pony trek in nearby Ennistymon.  For lovers of history and culture, you’ll be spoilt for choice: ranging from castles, abbeys and forts to flora and fauna.  What’s more, on your doorstep you’ll find lakes, deep sea angling and dolphin watching trips out into the Atlantic and a range of significant archeological and geological sites.

Nearby towns of particular interest include: Ennistymon, Ennis, Galway, Kilkee, Loop Head and Kilrush (with its ferry to County Kerry).  Irish traditional music and set dancing can be enjoyed in the evenings through out the county.
