Interior & Grounds
Although completely renovated, Glencoe Castle retains many of its original architectural features, baronial Irish furniture and family portraits. Guests can enjoy the variety of its bejewelled colour schemes, or take in the many works of art, which include a gallery of the former Knights. When it comes to dining, the options are, to eat in the Main Dining Room, which can accommodate up to 35, with its tables dressed in crisp Irish linen, family silverware and sparkling glasses or, for larger parties, the Large Dining Room which can seat a further 50 in a more formal setting. It is in these splendid surroundings that guests are spoilt with freshly-caught fish, locally-reared beef and lamb, served with vegetables and fruit grown in the Castle's organic walled garden.
The Drawing Room is one of the Castle’s three reception rooms, with its Rossi marble mantelpiece, Adam period ceiling and long windows overlooking the croquet lawn; it’s the perfect place to enjoy tea, coffee, pre or post-dinner drinks. The Smoking Room is the ideal spot for relaxation with its welcoming open fire and abundance of comfy seats and sofas. The Library, on the other hand, is the place to head when you’re in search of peace and quiet or the comfort of a good book, a selection of which can be found in the mahogany bookcase.
The Castle sleeps up to 30 in four Deluxe rooms, six Superior rooms and five Standard rooms, all of which have their own bathroom but boast uniquely different styles, layout and character. The bedrooms at the front have a view of the river, while those at the back overlook the formal garden. Superior and Standard rooms are situated in either the old Castle Wing or the third floor.
Grounds
Glencoe Castle is surrounded by formal gardens, containing a vast selection of flowers, plants and trees. There is a walled kitchen garden which supplies the Castle kitchen, together with croquet and tennis facilities. Beyond the gardens, roam in the great outdoors offered by an estate of this size.
