Easily accessible by air or by land, this lakeside Castle offers eight luxurious bedrooms featuring four posters, carved wooden beds and 7 bathrooms making it the ideal venue for up to 16 of your guests. For larger groups, there is further accommodation available in another part of the estate, sleeping up to an additional 23 guests.
Very much a family affair, Cutlough Castle manages to blend the grandeur and formality of a turreted castle with homeliness; resulting in a venue which is relaxed and welcoming yet undoubtedly grand. High ceilings and generously proportioned rooms combine with comfortable furnishings and attractive antiques to enhance the home-from-home feeling set against the Castle backdrop. Bedrooms are individually styled and have recently been refurbished to provide high standard guest accommodation.
The Castle hall with its high vaulted ceiling is adorned with family portraits, antique furniture and busts. On the ground floor there is a large formal Dining Room with views to the lake, which can seat up to 22 around two dining tables. A focal point of this room is the ornate fireplace. The Dining Room is serviced by a well equipped kitchen with modern appliances. The elegant but comfortable Drawing Room has ample comfy seating and a large open fireplace. The Salon acts as an additional reception room with its polished wooden floor and magnificent views over the lake and terrace.
Cutlough Castle can cater for wedding receptions of up to 200 guests and more if a marquee is included in the planning. For weddings or celebratory parties, large or small, the Castle provides the perfect, romantic setting.
Grounds:
The grounds of the castle extend to some 1600 acres and include a private lake, well planned garden areas, laws and woodland. The long drive to the castle provides the perfect pre-wedding or pre-party scene setter, giving only an inkling of the grandeur that lies ahead. Within the grounds, guests can avail of the private fishing offered in the Castle’s lake as well as partake in deer stalking, duck and pheasant shooting, all of which are available during the appropriate seasons. The Castle also has its own equestrian centre, making it the ideal spot to explore on horseback.
