Interior & Grounds
Completely renovated and thoughtfully decorated throughout, the inside of the castle is no less impressive than the exterior. With an abundance of roll top baths and rich soft furnishings, the castle offers a luxurious, home-from-home experience.
On the Ground Floor you’ll find the Drawing Room, a well proportioned room, where club chairs and comfy sofas hold court over the open fireplace, while chintzy chaises longues and settees offer space for reading or relaxing by the window. The Sitting Room offers further space for relaxation and features an open fireplace and television.
Not surprisingly, the large mahogany table, which seats fourteen, is to be found in the richly decorated Dining Room with its variety of portraits serving to create quite a regal feel. Also to be found on this floor are the well equipped Kitchen with its four oven Aga, additional electric cookers, microwave, dishwasher and the adjoining Laundry Room, equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer.
For guests with reduced mobility or simply seeking a ground floor room, there is a ground floor bedroom which can be set up as either a double or a twin, with a wheelchair accessible en suite bathroom.
The First Floor plays host to the majority of the sleeping accommodation and here you’ll find 3 double rooms with en suite bathrooms; 1 twin room with bathroom facing and a further twin and two singles which share a bathroom. Cleverly, each bedroom is furnished in a completely different, yet complimentary style, allowing guests to choose according to their personal preference. There is also a sauna on the first floor for guest use.
Grounds:
This 200 acre estate is managed along ecological lines by the Castle owners and boasts a good selection of wildlife, an array of lawns, organic gardens, woodland walks and a working organic farm.
