Interior & Grounds
Although completely renovated, the interior of Laune House retains its Georgian character with its generously proportioned rooms, ornate plasterwork and classical marble fireplaces. The Dining Room, which is probably the most formal room in the house is, with its rich claret walls and highly polished furniture, provides the perfect backdrop to any meal, no matter the occasion.
The Drawing Room, which is light and airy, offers an abundance of comfy seating and a roaring log fire, making it the ideal spot to relax, day or night. The Library, which is a cosy room, with book-lined walls and a good selection of comfortable seats, is the perfect place to steal a quiet moment or enjoy a pre-dinner drink.
The Kitchen, which is well equipped, is sufficiently spacious to enjoy casual breakfasts, lunches or suppers. Each one of the richly coloured, generously proportioned bedrooms are thoughtfully presented with king size beds (that can be unzipped to convert to twins if required) and en suite bathrooms.
The four courtyard cottages have been converted with the same attention to detail as the main house and offer flexible, quality self catering accommodation. Again with rooms offering either king-size or twin beds, one of the cottages sleeps 8, another 6 and the final two 4.
Each cottage has a sitting room with ample comfy seating and a well equipped kitchen together with patios for al fresco dining. Kitchens are equipped with gas hobs, double ovens, microwaves and dishwashers and the comfortable, tastefully decorated sitting rooms have open fires, CD players, flat screen televisions and DVD players. The largest of the cottages has doors between the drawing room and kitchen which can be opened to create a huge entertaining space. Each cottage has a utility room with a washing machine and there is a communal clothes drying facility.
Internet access is available in the main house and the cottages for guests who want (or need) to stay in touch with the real world.
