Built on the river edge which gives the region it's name, the Vendee, 40km from the sea shore and 40 minute by car from the bridge of Ile de Re, this majestic, recently restructured chateau consists of a central section, flanked by two towers.  The chateau has been sensitively redecorated to ensure that its original, elegant French style – complete with crystal chandeliers and gilt-edging - is maintained, while providing all the modern conveniences that guests expect. Many of the rooms offer superb panoramic views of the river and tree-clad hills.

The property includes seven hectares of parkland, gardens and orchards. Also on the grounds there are a cottage, a fitness area (with weights, treadmill, shower and relaxation zone), a second cottage that is not open to the public and a garage.
