Château des Lampions is located very near a town with all amenities and grocery shops for the necessary provisions. There are many good restaurants within easy reach, giving you many good reasons to sample the world-renowned local cuisine and wines produced in the region. There is a market in the nearby town three kilometres away, on Saturdays and Wednesdays, with a pretty fair on the first Monday of every month. The same town has a good supermarket, a pharmacy, patisserie, butcher, post office and a bookshop.

You will no doubt want to explore the delights of the Loire Valley, with its wealth of historical and architectural sites, churches and intriguing medieval towns. The château is perfectly placed to explore the locality, and we have compiled a comprehensive guidebook detailing everything you need to know to help you make the most of your stay. The amusement park, Futuroscope, is only a half-an-hour drive from the château and there are many activities nearby the help you make the most of the great outdoors.  For those who enjoy a round of golf, there a nine and eighteen-hole course nearby.  Cycling, horse riding and tennis are also available. Towns worthy of a visit include: Poitiers, Chinon and Richelieu and there are some magnificent châteaux in the region.
