General & History
In the shade of a two-hundred-year-old linden tree, the Chateau de Furcy looks out over the rolling valleys and forests of the Charente from the hilltop it shares with a Romanesque church. It is ideally situated on the edge of a bustling French village, hidden away in its two and a half acres of green and pleasant grounds, with gravel paths and beautiful box hedges in the shade of ancient chestnut and yew trees.
The chateau has been in the same family for eight centuries, growing into a classical French chateau from its tenth-century foundations. The two separate wings and their elegant bedrooms have been lovingly decorated with family heirlooms and furniture in the style of their different eras. Together, connected by the music room with its two beautiful grand pianos, they can comfortably accommodate up to 15 people.
The chateau is a perfect base for exploring the surrounding countryside, which draws nature-lovers, gourmands and history buffs alike.
