General & History
Sleeping up to 16 people, one of the unique attractions of this 18th century manor house is its position - insulated by its verdant secret garden - right at the heart of one of France’s most attractive villages, making it ideal for a large family of different ages and pursuits. The house occupies a commanding position in the village a couple of minutes walk away from the main square, and with its ornate plasterwork, wrought iron balconies and nigella-blue shutters it is very much the mayorial mansion. The climate being ideal for mulberry trees, this are became the centre of a thriving silk spinning and weaving industry. The manor housed the owner and several generations of his family, provided with homegrown vegetables and fruit by the extensive potager.
