The villa can sleep 12, and perhaps the most spectacular feature of this stone built holiday villa is the terrific colonnaded Roman private pool together with its spectacular views over the valley. The Villa Fontagne has all the modern comforts, whilst retaining the style and charm of Provence.

Château Melioule: The Château Melioule is beautifully perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views across the valley, the Lake of Castillon and the 11 acres of private land that the chateau enjoys. The Château Melioule has 3 independent apartments that can sleep up to 18 guests, you can however all eat together indoors in the vaulted dining room. The chateau boasts its own private beach and lake, a large heated swimming pool and pergola.

Château Baloyne: The Château Baloyne is protected by the government as a Historic Monument. The Château Baloyne is full of personality and comfort. The chateau has been beautifully restored and can sleep 15 on site. You have the monuments, great views, a private pool, a remarkable chateau.

Provence is perhaps the most irresistible part of France. Provence stretches from the mountains to the Mediterranean. Provence has everything and is a superb location to holiday in France, despite its popularity Provence has remained very much unscathed.

The two largest cities of inland Provence are Aix and Avignon. Avignon has spectacular cultural festivals, museums, ancient churches and chapels. Avignon has long been one of the major artistic centres of France and the city is beautifully preserved. Aix-en-Provence is stunning with its fantastic markets, majestic boulevards and popular festivals of art. The eastern and northern parts of Provence have some of the best and fertile soil in France so the wine, fruit and vegetables are amongst some of the best in France.

The main problem with Provence is picking where to go. The weather, culture, landscape, history, food, wine, people, atmosphere is second to none. This is an ideal spot to rent a holiday chateau or villa in France.

Things to do whilst staying at your luxury chateau in the Rhône Alps:

The Alps holds some of France's most dramatic landscapes. The 1992 Winter Olympics of 1992 was hosted by the French Alps! The French Alps are home to some of the best ski resorts in the world, including Val d'Isere, Meribel and Chamonix. France has some of the most enjoyable skiing in Europe. Val d'Isere has some excellent slopes, Meribel is one of the better value resorts and Chamonix has some of the most challenging slopes in France.

Grenoble is the capital of the Rhone Alps and is a fine, modern and thriving city. Grenoble is home to 4 universities so the nightlife is inevitably active. Nearby Lake Geneva, and the serene pleasures of the spa towns on the edge of the lake are also worth a visit.

One of the Rhone Alps most popular exports is Chartreuse. Carthusian monks have been making the now world famous green liquor since the seventeenth-century. France’s Rhone valley holds the gastronomic paradise of Lyon. Lyon is physically the second biggest city in France, it has a thriving silk industry and is a huge centre for commerce and banking.

Lyon has many charms but most obviously is the cuisine. In the old town there are more restaurants per square metre than anywhere else on earth!

The Rhone valley has exceptional vineyards and fruit orchards. Some of France's best wines are produced in the Cotes du Rhone vineyards, of which the most famous is the much celebrated and loved Crozes-Hermitage appellation. Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Beaujolais amongst the most famous wines in France, and are also produced in the Cotes du Rhone.
