Interior & Grounds
Ground Floor
The château has huge living spaces, two dining rooms, a living room, a billiard room and a fully equipped study. The dining room was formerly the salledes gardes, where the knights of yore would warm their joust-weary limbs by the grand stone fireplace. This unique historical character of this room is retained, and is now beautifully arranged as an elegant dining room, and still the heart of the château. Sumptuously dressed in beautiful table linens, suspended candelabra, warmed by the open fireplace and lit by candlelight, ten can dine here comfortably. A second formal dining room provides a versatile space, which can be arranged to create an enchanting extra dining room for a large party or wedding reception, with a beautiful fireplace and glorious aspect over the gardens. Up to 25 guests can dine in this room. Alternatively, the room can be arranged as a spacious conference room, providing a striking room for corporate events, with all the necessary equipment. The office provides a great space to keep up to speed with business and correspondence, or even a leisurely read. This is a peaceful room, fully equipped with a computer with all the necessary applications, internet access, a printer and fax machine.
The living room is designed in the Gothic style, having been designed in the 1800s, with incredible mahogany fireplace, beautiful wood paneling and French antique furnishings. The grand salon is beautifully furnished, with striking and impressive carved stone fireplace featuring the house’s coat of arms. The wood paneling, sumptuous rugs, comfortable sofas and handsome period furnishings, provide a magical space to entertain and relax. Located on the top floor of the chateau is the games room, with a billiard table, a great selection of books and comfortable sofas, with original oak beams – the perfect place to enjoy a beer with a game of billiards, or an after-dinner glass of Armagnac. This room also has a large-screen television with a good selection of DVDs and a music system.
There are seven spacious and luxurious bedroom suites located in the main house. Six are double bedrooms with either king or queen-size beds, and one twin bedroom room with generously sized single beds. All the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms or baths and basins. The rooms are all beautifully dressed in luxurious drapes and antique furnishings, creating a warm inviting ambience and peaceful private retreat. Each room is traditionally styled, with gorgeous mirrors, pleasant artwork, beautiful period features and comfortable beds dressed in luxurious bed linens and eiderdowns. All the bedrooms have televisions and DVD players.
There is further accommodation in the farmhouse in the gardens of the château. There is a luxurious bedroom suite and two additional bedrooms, one of which has two small single beds suitable for children, and two bathrooms, all beautifully dressed to offer comfort and privacy, just a stones throw from the château.
