Nearest airport: Cherbourg or Dinard (120km).

Nearest port: Cherbourg, Caen (100km).

It is a ten-minute drive to the main town, with supermarkets and shops selling all essential produce and necessities.  There are many pretty villages dotted around the area, and many weekly markets with delicious breads, vegetables, pottery and artisan creations. 

On Saturday: Saint Lo has the largest local market, while Avranches, Bayeaux, Granville have smaller markets. Sunday: Hauteville-sur-mer, Saint Lô and Villedieu-les-poèles.  Monday is Carentan, Thursday: Coutances and Friday there is a market in Vire.

There are many beaches locally, with glorious sandy beaches, and Granville is our local seaside resort, which is very pretty and lively with a medieval town to discover. Coutances and its cathedral are lit up for summer festivities with musical recitals creating a magical ambiance.

Our nearby village has a friendly visitor information office, while Saint Lo and Coutances also have very helpful Tourist Information Offices. Activities in the area are extensive and we are well provided for with holiday amusements, including: Walks with the llamas, pony trekking, wine tasting and food discovery trails, swimming and fishing.

For trips with an historic focus, you must find time for Bayeux with its tapestry, museum and intriguing medieval architecture. The D-Day landing beaches are within reach, as well as many beautiful châteaux and gardens for you to explore.

Gastronomes will be spoilt for choice, as there are some fantastic restaurants nearby, including: 

La Verte Campagne in Trelly:  Great food and well-frequented by locals and Parisians alike - booking ahead recommended on 023309424.

Le Clos des Sens in Coutances:  A bijou restaurant near the cathedral, great local dished creatively prepared by their talented chef.  Reservation only, closed on Mondays, telephone 0233479478.

Le Ratellier in Coutances:  Cheap eats in cheerful surrounds, this creperie is bustling and popular, closed Mondays.

Le Jules Gommes in Regneville sur mer:  A very cosy gastro-pub with delicious seafood, and perfect for Saturday or Sunday lunch, closed on Mondays.
