Interior & Grounds

Château:

Château l’Epinglette was built to provide accommodation, with spacious living rooms for entertaining and charming bedrooms to provide heavenly nights’ sleep.  There are three sitting rooms in the château with carefully selected period furnishings and comfortable sofas, as well as a piano room with a beautiful grand piano. These provide wonderful rooms in which to relax and socialize.  There is a large formal dining room with oak paneling and two large halls, which can be arranged for parties and functions according to your requirements.  There is a large kitchen to provide catering for the house, with range cooker, microwave and dishwasher, as well as a fridge-freezer and all necessary equipment.  There are also laundry facilities and a washing machine.

There are eleven beautiful bedrooms in the main house, dressed with luxurious French bed linens, antique furnishings, wooden floors and original features throughout, with sumptuous soft furnishings.  The rooms are all spacious - four of which are very comfortable double bedrooms, two of the bedrooms are twin rooms, two of the bedrooms sleep four guests and three of the bedrooms sleep three guests. There are also six bathrooms, and a downstairs loo.

The Carriage House

The carriage house is south facing, and sits in the front gardens of the château, within the courtyard. Beautifully renovated and centrally heated to provide self-contained accommodation for twelve guests, the Carriage House has a quirky dome-shaped kitchen, fully equipped with range, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine.  There is a spacious open plan living and dining room, with a fireplace and comfortable seating for a full house. Furnished to the same high standards as the main house, there are five comfortable bedrooms:  Three of the rooms are doubles, one is a family room consisting of a double bed and bunk beds, and there is also a twin bedroom.  There are three bathrooms, with an additional shower room, and a downstairs loo.  The Carriage House has its own gardens and a barbecue patio area.

The Mews Cottage

The very pretty mew Mews Cottage sleeps four guests, it is beautifully dressed to a very high standard, and is also located in the front gardens and courtyard of the château. With a southwesterly aspect, the cottage provides self-contained accommodation. There is a light filled open-plan living room which has comfortable sofas and armchairs, a large wood burner, television and VCR. The kitchen adjoins, and is equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher.  Downstairs there is also a shower room and loo, as well as a cloakroom.

There are two double bedrooms on the first floor, one of which has a charming lit clos double bed, and there is also a bathroom. On the second floor there is the mezzanine level and a third bedroom, which has twin beds. The cottage has a small patio area with table and chairs, allowing guests to enjoy the gardens, and there is also parking for one car.

The Gardens

The château is surrounded by nearly a hectare of gardens to explore, with a pretty orchard and woodlands, as well as a large barbecue and playing fields.
