Interior & Grounds
Within, the furnishings are antiques appropriate to their setting, and the interior has been skilfully decorated and cared for.
Ground floor
The Salon: With dual aspect French windows leading out to the terrace. This is the perfect roost for reading, playing card games or listening to music.
The Grand Salon: This huge room is the piece de resistance of the chateau, built to accommodate an enormous carpet from Spain that adorns the parquet floor. A crystal chandelier sheds a benign glow on the old panelled wood walls embellished with ancient tapestries and family portraits. Wood is provided for the marble fireplace.
The Dining Room: This large room, lined in gold silk damask and tapestries, can seat up to 22. It provides a resplendent setting for a collection of Chinese porcelain.
The Kitchens: There are two kitchens – one, small but functional is next door to the dining room. The second is larger, newly created, with a huge slab of granite as worktop, six burner gas hob, and a multiplicity of stainless steel appliances.
The Living/Dining Room: This is ideal for informal family meals, being next to the new kitchen, and doubling as a library.
The Children’s Corner: Children are well-catered for in this very friendly chateau, and they have a corner of their own, full of pastimes - books, games and puzzles. They can also go down to the basement to play table tennis.
