General & History
The quintessence of cool French elegance – a grand chateau of red brick and carved tufa blocks, with an extravagantly pointed turret, large shuttered windows, towering chimneys and magisterial approach. The present owner is a descendant of the illustrious ambassador who designed and built the house in the late 1700s.
The dignity of the park echoes that of the chateau - with a formal French garden bounded by a miroir d’eau, a picking garden and walled potager, set in 30 hectares of mature flowering trees and rare shrubs.
There is a tennis court for the use of guests and a swimming pool. Guests may ride the owner’s horse and pony.
