General & History
Le Prieure Briand, priory of the great chateau that dominates the region, was built by a baron in the early sixteenth century to house six priests in unusual luxury, believing that his generosity would earn him an eternity in paradise...
Its commanding position beside a hilltop village affords the most magnificent views over the wooded hills of the Dordogne and as far as the distant mountains of the Pyrenees.
The chateau has been recently fully renovated and refurbished, offering guests both original and ancient features combined with luxurious comfort. Le Prieure Briand has accommodation for up to thirteen guests in six spacious and beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with their own bathroom fully equipped with modern facilities. The chateau is furnished throughout with antiques and the walls are hung with paintings.
