General & History
The chateau, a national monument of great historical importance, has recently been restored to its former magnificence as an authentic example of a French country house, which offers luxurious comfort combined with all modern facilities.
Although the foundations were laid in the sixteenth century, the chateau’s facade is that of the 1750s. Once the home of viscounts, the house has a large suite, two spacious bedrooms, and elegant lounges with gorgeous decorated ceilings, original wood panelling, fine paintings and antique furniture.
Guests can relax in the lovely and extensive gardens, swim in the pool, ramble through the neighbouring countryside, explore the Dordogne valley and the historic town of Bergerac, or sample the renowned wines of the area.
