General & History
Chateau Duchaine was built by a distinguished and ennobled family at the beginning of the 18th century. It replaced an even older, 15th century, castle that had been destroyed on the orders of Cardinal Richelieu in the 17th century. The magnificent chateau that stands today has had many other notable residents including the notorious Honoré Mirabeau, and the distinguished industrialist, Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf, after whom a Paris metro station is named. 2009 is the first year that this impressive building is available to rent by the general public.
