General & History
The Chateau was built a hundred years ago, as a fabulously generous gift from a besotted lover to the actress who had won his heart. It was used as a hospital during the second world war, and then as a holiday home for disadvantaged children. The present owners have given a edgy contemporary twist to this wonderfully eccentric building. On the edge of the Morvan National Park, the 4-hectare grounds of Chateau Gremaud comprise forest, meadowland and a lake.
