"Hello Jane, I apologise for not contacting you sooner after our return home….. We had a great time on the holiday. The weather ranged from good to superb (four consecutive days without seeing a cloud!) although it was cold enough at night to justify having a few really terrific open fires in that marvellous fireplace. We took up several of your suggestions, having lunch twice at Au Bon Acceuil (brilliant value) and treating ourselves to the full Monty at Olivier Leflaive! I spent a fortune on his wines (and a couple of others in Puligny) but in a couple of years I reckon I'll be glad I did!! We all enjoyed the great baguettes from the local boulangerie for breakfast and I jogged there and back most mornings (to justify the excesses of the day to come!)… It was a very enjoyable and relaxing week in a part of France... Beaune is really lovely isn't it and the series of wine villages are gorgeous in the autumn sunshine. Going in the other direction, we were also quite taken with Seurre. My mum was bowled over everywhere by the endless lines of tall trees in their beautiful autumn foliage. This is making me want another holiday! Best regards, Iain and Manami Forsyth"
