General & History
Set in mature wooded parkland, this handsome square building qualifies as a chateau thanks to the two towers that adorn its façade. The site retains traces of the original medieval fortress, but what you see now was built in the 19th century, with all the solidity and spaciousness that characterised that architectural period. Once the home of a marquise and a countess, a famous Egyptologist and a heroic soldier, the chateau now provides a luxurious escape for those longing to escape their titles, history and the quotidian battlefield.
