Toulouse, Bordeaux and Bergerac international airports are within an hour by car from us. Alternatively, there is a landing strip just moments away, for private flights. A short drive from the manoir are two medieval market towns, Penne D'Agenais and Pujols, with their markets and fairs, pretty cobblestoned streets and dwellings.
The markets days are as follows: Villeneuve : Wednesdays - organic market. Saturdays - huge farmers market in the town square. Port de Penne: Fridays - farmers markets during the summer months. There are numerous night markets in the area with tables and chairs laid out in village squares with the farmers cooking their own produce.
The Ferme du Lacy produces the world-renowned prunes d'Agen, and there are many orchards and vineyards surrounding the manoir. Guests can even visit a local snail farm or beehive, to source unusual and delicious local produce for lunches and suppers at home. Visit the historic town of Cahors, with its medieval bridge, or Rocamandour with its amazing church built into the mountain, and its well-loved monkey forest.
The house is an hour and a half’s drive from Andorra and the coast. Pleasure boats can be hired form Port de Penne on the river Lot, and gourmet dining opportunities are available locally - house favorites are La Maison sur la Place in Penne D'Agenais and La Toute Blanche in Pujols. Golfing is available nearby at Villeneuve Golf Club, and at the Aastelnaud de Gratcombe course. Horse riding and fishing are also available locally.
