Interior
The country house accommodates ten guests in comfort and style, in its five luxurious bedrooms – four of which are doubles, and the other is a twin bedroom. Each bedroom is dressed with an individual style, and all bathrooms have delicious spa products. The manoir is arranged on three floors - the ground floor consists of an elegant hallway, dressed in gorgeous bespoke wallpaper, wooden flooring, and stylish lighting. Off to the left of the hallway you find the bedrooms and bathroom. On the right are the kitchen and dining areas.
The master bedroom has a luxurious double bed, offering supreme comfort, with luxurious bed linens and pillows. The furnishings are sleek and modern, with beautiful original terracotta floor tiles, and French windows leading onto an intimate seating area, and the gardens. The en-suite has a walk-in powerful shower, washbasin and toilet. There are four further bedrooms, three of which are double bedrooms and a twin room – all decorated to a very high standard, with comfortable beds, stylish furnishings, and luxurious modern bathrooms with complimentary spa treats.
The modern designer kitchen has a clean uncluttered feel, combining beautiful ceramic tiled walls, original terracotta flooring and oak beams and doors. The sleek steel kitchen units, stove and sinks, and contemporary fittings create a stylish space in which to cook, entertain, and enjoy. Adjoining the kitchen is the open-plan dining room, with traditional oak dining table and chairs, for formal dining or leisurely family breakfasts. A stunning work of art adorns the wall, and the antique grandfather clock keeps time, reminding guests of the unique history of this lovely manoir. The windows fill the room with light, and have a great aspect onto the gardens.
The upper floor is the stylishly converted loft space, which runs the length of the house - a vast space offering your guests the opportunity to spend time together, while moving between activities and entertainment. For example there are sumptuous leather sofas on which to enjoy a chat or a glass of wine. The flat screen television has satellite, including UK channels, for relaxing viewing, and there is a library area with a selection of classic books and games and music system. The original oak beams and floorboards, and windows offering glorious views of the grounds, offset the clean, contemporary styling.
Grounds
The back doors lead to a terrace, with outdoor dining table and chairs, as well as barbeque. Stone steps lead up to the pool, which is gated and surrounded by a low stone wall for safety, and lawns surround the poolside with whitewashed wooden garden furniture. The impressive pool is backlit to dramatic effect, creating a magical ambiance after dark. Alongside the terrace, by the pool and BBQ area, there is a quirky but luxurious huge outdoor bath, which has been sunk into the ground, creating a thrilling place to bathe. The bathing area is sheltered by thick stone walls, which keep any breezes away, with a window offering views over the Bordeaux countryside beyond. Nearby is the old barn, with rows of Plum and Cherry trees, and the gardens are abundant with carefully selected plants and flowers, such as the aromatic French Lavender and Rosemary, which fill the air with fragrance. On the lawns are bespoke California-style sun loungers, to laze away the hours in the glorious sunshine.
