The nearby medieval town of Libourne is situated on the meeting point of the Dordogne an Isle rivers and is regarded as the centre of the Gironde wine trade. One of the largest fresh food markets in the area is held here three times a week. Wine tours are also available of nearby vineyards, and the local villages have bakeries, newsagents, butchers and a pharmacy.
Within two minutes walk of the house is a great restaurant, overlooking the lake and surrounding woodland. Nearby Libourne and St Emilion offer an abundant choice of places to eat, from bistros to gourmet restaurants, serving the finest food in France.
