General & History
A handsome fairy-tale chateau with creeper-covered turrets and towers overlooking 3 hectares of arboretum and park. Situated close to a small and picturesque town in central France buzzing with local fun culture, the classic French pastimes of boules and petanque, and occasional flea markets and art exhibitions. There are dancing and fireworks at the village festival in the beginning of September, and in the second half of February the village is glamorously transformed by a sparkling veil of snow. From the frenetic excitement of go karting to the contemplative pleasure of fishing, there are diversions the year round.
The chateau can accommodate eighteen people in rooms and suites whose eclectic décor shows a relish for history with a refreshingly contemporary edge. The atmosphere is a comfortable blend of conviviality with privacy – with large public rooms and delicious en suite hideaways. Throughout are details of casual splendour – the generous use of heavy brocades and paisleys, whose richness is punctuated by crisp toile de jouy and stripes in graphic black and white. Fabulous passementerie adorning curtains and upholstery, animal prints, tapestry covered chairs, Persian and Chinese rugs are scattered on magnificent marble floors.
Chateau du Juday is a stylish setting for an unforgettable holiday.
