General & History
Built as a hunting lodge in the late 19th century, the chateau is a classically proportioned building situated on rising ground with superb views over woods and fields towards the distant mountains of the Haute Vienne, Western Limousin. This area of unspoiled natural beauty is the traditional heartland of France.
The chateau has a serene atmosphere with a comfortable, contemporary interior and a spacious garden and grounds which combine to make a perfect venue for a relaxed family holiday or group of friends.
Sheltering within a two hectare walled park containing trees at least a century old, the chateau has been extensively renovated to the highest standard of comfort while keeping the elegant formality of the original design.
Displayed on the walls throughout the chateau is a constantly changing exhibition of painting and prints from the Limoges Contemporary Art Institute.
The central salon connects, with tall double doors, to the garden and also to a sitting room and dining room, a perfect venue for entertaining.
All five bedrooms boast fine linen sheets and duvets of duck down, and all the bathrooms have views of the garden and are extensively tiled with limestone. Guests are also provided with waffle bathrobes.
Guest can relax on loungers beside the large (twelve by six metres) heated swimming pool which has crystal clear naturally filtered water, or dine alfresco on the patio.
