Interior & Grounds
Château Camomille comfortably accommodates fifteen adults and ten children, making it the ideal, economical choice for a large group of family and friends.
The château combines cosiness with antiquity. It is the perfect accommodating refuge - self-contained, with its own chapel complete with confessional, and touches of romance in its beetling turret, bateaux lits and chaises longues.
It has been carefully renovated to blend the best of its original 17th century features with present day comfort. Within its fairytale turret and massive walls, which effectively insulate the rooms from the heat of the summer sun, are spacious, efficiently centrally heated rooms with great panelled fireplaces, heavy stone arches, solid wooden beams, and ancient floors of wood and stone patinated with history.
The château is surrounded by more than thirty acres of gardens and open land where you can bask like lizards in the heat, utter peace interrupted only by the sound of cicadas, birdsong and the wind soughing in the trees. Across the valley, cows graze in the fields and deer step cautiously out of the woods to drink from the stream.
A saltwater swimming pool, fifteen by seven metres, fenced and alarmed for safety, has a patio where one can enjoy the wonderful views over the valley.
Behind the house, shaded by tall trees, is a spacious grass terrace where you can picnic at refectory tables.
