General & History
Built in the time of Louis XIV, Chateau Camomille is set in unspoilt countryside with open views, and it surveys its 13 hectare demesne from a plateau in central France that overlooks a countryside dotted with lakes. 150 metres above sea level, the chateau is a handsome addition to this, the heart of castle country, with a sublime backdrop of swathes of mixed woodland, mountains, and trout filled streams that flow through peaceful meadows grazed by the red-gold Limousin cattle whose ancestors were depicted 13,000 years ago on the walls of the Lascaux caves.
Perfect for families with small children, the chateau stands in a large garden surrounded by open countryside, with a swimming pool (fenced for safety), a patch of woodland and a brook. There is something for every age, from absorbing the beauty of nature from atop a horse or bicycle in the local byways, messing about with boats on lake or river, playing tennis to, for the adventurous, attempting the piste noire in the mountains.
The chateau is the ideal location for a wide variety of functions, both business and pleasure, and also celebrations, retreats, workshops and educational courses.
