Chateau de St. Auguste: The chateau is set in 17 hectares of private grounds and is rented on a B&B basis, perfect for groups who don’t want to lift a finger in the kitchen. The owners live on site to take care of all your catering and cleaning.
Chateau de La Ruix: The Chateau de La Ruix is the family home for the owner Veronique, and it has been her dream to transform her special 18th century residence into a wonderful holiday destination. The chateau borders the Loire, the interior is stylish and opulent, and you can enjoy a private pool and the chateau’s orchard gardens. Some very famous people have stayed at the Chateau de La Ruix, and for those with helicopters you’re welcome to land in the garden!
Chateau du Ludais: This is a great value chateau with top-end facilities. It is often used for business meetings, which gives you an indication of the standard of accommodation you can expect during your holiday rental. A five-course banquet meal with wine can be prepared for 40 euros per person!
Chateau de Camille: The Chateau is set in breathtaking surroundings. Previously owned by the Barons of the town, the chateau is homely, cosy and perfect for family holidays and events. The chateau has a pool and can sleep up to 22, the interior and grounds are excellent. The Chateau de Camille is sensational value for money.
Things to do whilst staying at your luxury chateau in the Auvergne & Limousin:
Collonges la Rouge is renowned as one of the most beautiful villages in France and is built entirely of red stone. Romanesque churches & turreted manor houses make this village well worth a visit. Nearby Turenne (11km away) is a charming city that is overlooked by an impressive chateau with views all over the surrounding countryside.
The regional park ‘Plateau de Millevaches’ contains a vast amount of hills, rivers & slopes making it a hiker’s paradise. Old villages line the edge of the park, where you take refuge after a long day’s walking.
Numerous rivers & lakes provide a whole range of water sports including sailing, canoeing, wind-surfing and water-skiing. Fishing enthusiasts will also enjoy the abundance of trout in the streams & brooks.
Limoges should be visited for its specialist enamel and porcelain and Aubusson for its tapestries.
The Regional Park of Auvergne Volcanoes has an astonishing amount of flora & fauna and 10 thermal spa areas within the ancient volcanoes.
