Sitting Room: The definition of cosy, with a big fat comfortable sofa and welcoming armchairs, a bright striped rug on irregular flagstones, thick curtains and logs burning in the huge open fireplace.  – underfloor heating

Dining Room: Partitioned from the sitting room by a grid of ancient beams, the dining room has a round table and a view of the great green outdoors.

Drawing Room: Light and airy, with a pair of large sofas, pale carpeted floor with a Persian rug in front of a huge fireplace, windows on three sides, a discreet television (Sky TV) and an outrageous fuchsia pink pool table.

Kitchen: A light, sociable well-designed room with custom-built modern units, a four burner gas hob as well as the obligatory oil-fired Aga, dishwasher, rustic whitewashed walls, a terra cotta tiled floor and a door straight out into the garden. There is even a larder for your Mrs Beeton moments.

Bedroom 1: A family room with a double bed and a cute turned wood single bed with decorative spindles, in the beamed eaves, in a room with sunshine yellow walls. Kingsize sleigh bed

Bedroom 2: The perfect cottage bedroom, with a sweet old painted double bed covered in a floral quilt, and view of trees from with window.

Bedroom 3: A large open room with a pair of antique turned wooden single beds complete with old-fashioned floral quilts, a Persian rug on the floor, and a bergere chair in which to sit as you contemplate nature through the windows.

There are two warm bathrooms with fine old-fashioned rolltopped baths, handbasins and loos. One bathroom also has a walk-in shower.

Grounds

Hidden in a wooded cleft beneath the Black mountains, you can step out of the cottage and walk in any direction and you will be confronted with Nature, green in leaf and stream. The property has its own brook and waterfall, as well as an ample expanse of lawn, a terrace upon which to catch a spot of sun, and a barbecue for the al fresco days of summer.
