Manoir de Lesuel: Featured in Channel 4’s ‘A Place in the Sun’, this Breton farmhouse is perfectly suited to family groups and is only a short distance from the Brittany coast.

 

Manoir des Chalands: The beautiful Manoir des Chalands, with 14th century origins, is a property steeped in history. The manoir is set in 4.5 hectares of one of the finest private gardens in France, known as Le Jardin. The chateau is an exclusive retreat for the few. The château is beautifully decorated, sleeps 20 very comfortably, and you’re greeted by the owners Anita and Ian, and their lovely Boxer dog! The Manoir des Chalands comes complete with an indoor Jacuzzi / spa.

 

Things to do whilst staying at your luxury chateau in Brittany:

 

1200 kilometres of magnificent rocky coastline with numerous bays and fishing villages dotted along it. The surrounding countryside is just as enchanting as the coast with its wild meadows, giant granite boulders and rich forests.

 

Countless castles, chateaux, manor houses, chapels and quaint old villages are available to explore. Its worth visiting Fougères and Vitré as they are two of the imposing border fortresses that used to protect its frontiers.

 

The traditional Breton lifestyle is still very visible in western Brittany (especially in Quimper and the Pays Bigouden) where you can enjoy cider, crèpes and witness the ancient Celtic costumes, language & musical performances.

 

St-Malo is worth visiting to explore Brittany’s maritime history. Other towns that should not be missed are Vannes, Rennes & Dinan.
