General & History
This wonderful Bastide was built at the beginning of the 14th Century. With later additions characterised by architecture of medieval origin, uplifted by a décor inspired by the passage of the Romains and the Moors, the manoir offers an exceptional atmosphere.
You will find all the comfort in 14 rooms, with salons and 5 bedrooms with different themes, dressing rooms and bathrooms. There is an indoor winter garden with a fully grown bougainvillaea and many different exotic plants, a Turquerie where you can relax in its cool thick white walls, watching TV or listening to music.
There is a grand piano and on the very top of the Bastide, there is a tower with a library/salon where you can relax and look at the wonderful views. At the lower level, there is a large Jacuzzi in a beautifully tiled room with double doors opening onto the front garden. You can enjoy your dinner in the beautiful dining room, with exceptional china and cutlery, or eat out on the terrace, overlooking the swimming pool.
The terrace is covered by a vine, and down a few step there is another wonderful summer terrace, with more mosaics depicting the spirit of the vine, if you wish to escape further from the sun. The pool is surrounded by ancient walls and is fully protected as required by French Law. In front of the property there is a very large garden with olive trees and cypress ideal for children’s games or parties.
This beautiful, 8,600 sq. ft. dwelling, was the farmhouse of a chateau burnt down in retaliation by the Duke of Rohan during a conflict between Catholics and Protestants.
