Located on the edge of a charming French village, a five minute drive from Chateau de Monbazillac and the stunning Chateau de Bridoire, Sadilac is a perfect holiday castle for groups of 8-18 guests. We offer our guests a large part of the Chateau as an exclusive six bedroom self-catering holiday accommodation. Sadilac is only 15km from Bergerac and the Dordogne river, superbly situated to explore the wine, food, countryside and history of South West France.

The Chateau's history goes back to the 1300s when it was an ancient fortified Priory. In the middle-ages the village was fortified surrounded by ramparts. In the 16th century Thomas, a powerful Protestant, razed the village to the ground after ferocious battle, leaving only the apse of the church and the ancient fortified Priory - the chateau - in which he lodged his garrison.

Today, the ground-floor and tower, which also date back as far as the 12th century, still exist, along with the Church at the side. The upper levels of the Chateau are 16th Century and the whole property has been fully and sympathetically restored. The Chateau also has a private 9 hole golf course and an attractive lake, set in 8 acres of undulating fairways. It is a compact par 27 approach course ideal for improving one's game, or for the ambitious beginner.
