Interior & Grounds
The manoir allows up to 10 people to occupy its 5 bedrooms - 4 doubles and one twin, all with a distinguishing feature and Kiehl's products for guest use. The manoir is set on three levels.
The lower ground floor is a wide expanse that is the master bedroom, a haven with terracotta flooring, double bed and bathtub. The room has an ensuite shower and WC. Sofa and french doors lead to the edge of the grounds, with a sitting area immediately outside. An inviting hallway lined in bespoke wallpaper is flanked with bedrooms and bathroom to the left and kitchen and dining areas to the right.
In the kitchen, natural wood and stone combine with modern appliances and steel worktop to create an old farmhouse feel with all modern conveniences. Island with sink and dishwasher looks out to an old post office table now serves as a tasteful dining table. An antique grandfather clock adorns the corner. Windows on two walls open the room out to the terrace and orchard beyond.
Airy grenier with original beams and floor boards comprises the entire top floor of the manoir. Bespoke furniture is positioned thoroughout - moon shaped sofas, flat screen television with satellite including UK channels and a corner library with a selection of books and games.
Outside, like a secret hideaway, nestled by the terrace and bordering the pool and barbecue area, an impressively large outdoor bath has been newly installed. Measuring 3 metres square, the bath is sunk into the ancient floors and protected by old stone walls and a window looking out towards the sunflower fields beyond.
The gardens have been lovingly planted and the heavenly melange of carefully chosen flowers, heady French lavender and rosemary creates a waft of divine fragrance over the lawn to new bespoke Californian style loungers designed by Jason Maclean, inspired by the hazy days of summer in Palm Springs.
The sizeable pool is backlit to breathtaking effect at night, its whitewashed belly reflecting the moonlight through the leaves of the adjacent lime tree. The back doors from the house leads to a terrace, complete with Weber BBQ and outdoor mecano dining table and chairs.
Stone steps take you up to the pool area which is gated and completely surrounded by a stone wall - an area to relax and is safe for children. A side building houses a huge bath with views to the countryside. The orchard lies beyond the old barn, with rows of cherry and plum trees for a perfect evening promenade.
